We would love to hear what you ladies think, so make sure let us know in the comments. To learn more about the woman behind CurvEnvy check out her interview with us below. How did you first get interested in fashion and why is it important to you? I d been interested in fashion since high school as a result of having to wear uniform. The only way to show my individuality was through colorful socks and stockings. Needless to say, I got in a lot of trouble with the nuns and administration as a result of expressing myself. This is why fashion is important to me, it s a means of showing who I am without having to utter a word. I can be whoever I want to be on any given day. What inspired you to make your own blog? As a result of gaining weight post baby while working in fashion public relations, I was faced with the dilemma of finding work appropriate stylish clothing. The brands that I worked for did not come in my size so I was forced to teach myself, through trial and error may I add, how to dress myself and where to shop. I was on a mission to showcase my curves without being scandalous. The positive feedback and fashion questions led me to start a Youtube channel and few years after that, my blog. Who are some of your favorite bloggers? Where to start!? I m obsessed with Blair Eadie from Atlantic-Pacific blog. I also love Chastity from Garner Style, Chante from Everything Curvy and Chic, Stella from J adore Fashion is my fashion crush, Kelly Augustine, GabiFresh, Peggy of On the Q, Essie Golden, Jezra, Kim of Naturally Fashionable and countless others. Are there any fashion icons or famous people whose style you admire? I know it s very clich , but I love Kourtney Kardashian s style. She throws in the right amount of class and comfort to many of her ensembles, which I love. I also love the fashions and styles from the show Mad Men. I love the femininity from that era. What s something everyone needs in his or her closet? A quality crisp white button down shirt-it s totally transitional and versatile. Goes well with everything from basic black leggings, jeans, to skirts and slacks. What do you think about when you re putting a look together? I came up with my motto, style is not just for the skinny, which I wholeheartedly believe. It carries me through each outfit selection. I defy the notion that a plus-size body cannot be fashionable or on-trend. Ultimately, my mood inspires my style. You know the saying life is a stage ? Well, I like to think of my wardrobe as the costume closet. I can change my character with each outfit it s just a matter of who I want to be on that given morning. What would you say to an aspiring fashion blogger? Don t lose yourself and remember to not compare your chapter 1 to someone else s chapter 20.
